You need a good secondary education plus keyboard skills and good business or secretarial experience (we will need to see a CV to ensure that this is the correct course for you).  If you do not have these, it may be that the PA Secretary course will be needed before taking this course. If you need a full range of training the Executive PA Diploma includes the latter course in any case. You can gain advice on this from the centre.

To provide a sound start for your first job as a receptionist or build up your confidence as a junior receptionist.

Course Format

There will be a two-day tutor led course segment followed by supervision and assistance over a one month period on flexi-time to suit your schedule. After the initial induction course, times are flexible to suit. On successful completion, you will be issued with a recognised certficate.

Touch Typing Courses

 

Course Objective

To provide a foundation in touch typing and ongoing speed development through practice.

Dates and Duration

The course runs for one day from 10:30 to 4:30. Check our SCHEDULE for dates. Following the course you will receive access codes for our online training system, so that you can continue to practice your typing and build your speed going forward. This additional time  is necessary because it takes time and practice to build both speed and accuracy. You will have the online training for at least three months following the completion of the course.

Course Format

The course is taught by an experienced Secretary and tutor who will take you through the methodology of learning how to touch type and using your home keys.

Outcome

Following the course and the period of practice for which we allow up to three months, you can come in to certify your speed. Our certification can then be used to support  job applications.

Objective

To gain either Proficient or Advanced Word User Skills

Course Format

The course is offered in Word 2007, 2010 or 2013, depending on your requirement. It is sold as a two unit course either  Beginner and Proficient level or  Proficient and  Advanced level .

You can study at home for up to 3 months, when you will need to take the assessment or arrange an extension (exam is optional).

Dates and Duration

There is one month of training at our academy during office hours ( Weekdays and Saturdays),  if centre based training is chosen. However, you may study at home in which case your training period is three months.  When you train at the centre  you will have access to  live tutors to provide guidance and assistance.

You can study as often and as much as you like, so it can fit in with your busy lifestyle. If you study at home for up to 3 months you will need to arrange to take your assessment during that period if you want to attain certification as this is optional.

Objective

To provide students with proficiency skills in  MS Outlook (advanced Outlook an option).

Course Format

A two unit course in one of Outlook 2007, 2010 or Outlook 2013. This is either at beginner and proficient levels or proficient and advanced levels. If you would like all three levels this is available at a supplement of £50.00.

Training is interactive online with coursework marked as you progress leading towards an exam (optional) ; it can be trained  remotely by Broadband connection or you can train at the centre with live tutors as backup.
